So. Once again, I'm updating the probably zero people that read this on my life to date.
I've started my senior year, and I didn't think it was possible, but I'm busier than ever. I'm a CF again. I'm taking 4 classes, which isn't so bad, but I also have an internship. That's 20 hours per week alone. All of my classes require an ass-load of reading. AKA I'm stressed on an almost constant time-frame. PLUS I'm considering a career change. Yeah. Real good timing, right? I'm attempting to apply to grad school, but now I don't know what to apply for. It's either going to be photography, or counseling. For some reason, I'm really leaning toward counseling for a degree. It occurred to me that I really like helping people, and I could consider doing it for a career. Don't get me wrong; I like journalism, plus I'm good at it. But I feel like I couldn't do it til I retire without hating my life. There are about 15 reasons why that is, but I won't get into that right now.
What I will get into, however, is how much I adore photography now. I bought a 55-200 mm lens for my camera over the summer, and it's my baby. I took some photos at my best friend's wedding, & I loved everything about doing it. I'm doing my ex-boyfriend's sister's senior photos sometime in November/December, and I'm also excited about that! I think I'm going to teach myself a whole lot about photography & use it to make extra money during school, and probably forever. :)
This is a little bit of a random tangent, but I've recently come to realize how great 3rd chances are. I've learned this the hard way, when I learned someone has recently been given one that I don't feel deserves it. It hurts just a little more because I wasn't given the same 3rd chance, and I probably would've jumped at the chance for one. I won't spill the details on this public of a forum because I'm classy like that. :) But if anyone's curious, I guess you can contact me & I'd probably fill you in. I have yet to ask why said person was given this chance and I wasn't...I'm not sure I want to hear the answer. Note to self: always give first, second, AND third chances...you don't realize how great they really are until you don't get one.
End rant.

For all you Trekkies out there...
On my adventure to the North Side today, I happened upon this. Yes, there is a legitimate street in Pittsburgh that is apparently dedicated to Vulcans. I NEEDED to share this as soon as I got back to my computer. :)

FINALLY able to catch up...
Words can not express how crazy my life has been to date. I don't even remember what I posted last time I had one of these 'catch up' posts. That's probably a bad thing...my goals for this summer are to a) blog once every week or two, and b) do enough exciting things to be able to blog every week or two.
Something that just recently happened to me...I got a 'real' job! I'll be a sales person at Macy's Downtown. I'm SOO excited!
I also bought a new cell phone last week...it's the equivalent of a child to me right now. Although I have yet to come up with a name for it (if you know me personally, you probably know that I have an affinity for naming things)
OOH, update...I got the internship I interviewed for back in March!! I'll be interning in the Web Production department of KDKA come September 7th. Once again, SOO excited! I've been blessed with some pretty awesome opportunities as of late. Another great opportunity coming up this fall is I've been asked to co-host one of Point Park's TV station (U-view)'s shows...it's called Sound Sessions & will feature music from local bands & talent. Hey, I'll take any experience I can get.
I haven't gotten to go out and take any photos as of late...but here's one from a month or two ago that I went out and took one nice day. Happened upon this little gem as I was walking through the Cultural District downtown.

A continuation of the last post...
So for whatever reason the HTML went crazy when I tried to post both entries at the same time...so here's the second!

Even more Brickfish entries!
So update on my Lake Erie Brickfish entry...it's currently ranked 264 out of almost 37,000 ENTRIES!!! It's still got a little more than a week left on it, so please keep voting! It needs to reach the top 150 to be considered to win.
In the meantime, I entered two more campaigns, one for a Neiman-Marcus gift card (Hello Shopping!!), and another for an iPod Touch and $250! I'll post them on here, so please vote for them all...I believe you can vote once every 24 hours, so the more votes the merrier! :)

Catching up-ish
So, I don't have any new awesome photos to put up, but I figured I'd at least re-cap the past month. Umm...I got rehired to be a Community Facilitator (similar to an RA) at my college! That was pretty excited...just found out about that last week. I'm interviewing in 5 days for an internship with KDKA (Pittsburgh's CBS station), which I will hopefully get to go along with my summer job down here (a combination of an office assistant & a CF). What else...
Actually, aside from school & work, that's really about all exciting that's happened!
Someday I will have a life & be able to talk more...and someday I'll get the chance to take more photos to put up as well. :-)

Jeff-fuh-fuh Dunham!
Last Saturday I went with a friend to see Jeff Dunham live at the Mellon Arena. This happened after a long day at a leadership conference, so I was definitely in the mood for some ventriloquism and hilarity. Needless to say, I was not at all disappointed. The entire night I was laughing my you-know-what off! Guitar Guy was the opener, and I almost peed myself when he got into his little jam session. He's legit an amazing guitarist! And of course, Jeff brought out all the favorites: Achmed, Walter, Peanut, Jose, and Buddy. The show was AMAZING, and I would definitely recommend going if he's coming to an area near you!
